You are looking for an internship, some training or a first job, here are our tips for preparing your CV. Before beginning your CV, take time to list out all experience you have gained and the skills and accomplishments you achieved.
Essential elements of a CV for beginner
For a beginner’s CV, on the structure side of it, the first section is to highlight your training. Then come the skills and experience if such exists, of course and finally your centers of interest.
1. Identity / contact information
You must mention your name, full address and fastest ways to reach you: telephone number and / or e-mail address. You can indicate your age and put a photo ID (you have to assess if it is a plus).
2. Professional goal
This is the first looked at part on any CV and the one that every recruiter will use to identify the candidate’s profile. You will show here the target position, your degree(s) or your career goal(s).
3. Your training
For each significant degree (of yours) or any acquired professional training certificate, give dates, places and significant details. Do not forget to mention any internship(s), even short ones as part of your curriculum.
These are your professional skills, mainly foreign language(s) spoken, computer tools (name of each software, version, level, system …).
5. Professional experience
Decline your jobs, summer jobs and internships, and for each one, give the name of the company / employer, duration or range of dates, position held and summary of the work performed. Explain briefly what these experiences have brought to you.
6. What interests you (various)
Be modest, no hobbies or pastimes, speak only of what may interest a recruiter, for example, sports, arts, social activities, volunteer for non-profit association(s) as well as your license(s),car, motorcycle and others,. Add the fact that you have your own transportation, if this is the case.
Little or no professional experience does not preclude you to value all the elements of your CV. Be sure to emphasize your autonomy for key skills, talk about your organizational skills, your leadership and your ability to work in teams.
